R. M. Hasanov, doctor of sociological sciences, acting professor, as a winner of the Faculty Development Fellowship Programme has attended USA’s Brown University for teaching and research; In the USA’s refereed journal “Nationalities Papers” was published his article “Social Capital, Civic Engagement and the Performance of Local Self-Government in Azerbaijan”, Vol.37, No1, January, 2009.
S. A. Ismailova, candidate of philosophical sciences, associate professor was the participant of Symposium titled “International Symposium on the Problems of Family” that took place in Turkey in 2006. Her speech “Sociological Analysis of Turkmen Family. Family Today” was published in the materials of Symposium. Her next article under the title “Mass Communication in Azerbaijan in the Conditions of Globalization” was published in the Materials of Conference that took place in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhsta, titled “Patriotism as an Appropriate Component of Social Culture of Contemporary Kazakhstan Society’ (27-28th June, 2007).
In the journal of the Congress of Azerbaijanians of the World (Sweden, 2007, vol. 2) were published the articles of T. Agayev, associate professor “Some peculiarities of marriage and divorce in Azerbaijan” and A. Mamedova “Problems of the environment protection in Azerbaijan”.
Y. N. Aliyeva, candidate of philosophical sciences, instructor of the department attended the conference “World of Eurasia: Diversity and Unity” organized by the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Republic of Russian Federation (Kazan, 2007). The theme of her speech was “Formation of new family relations in Azerbaijan in the conditions of civil society (gender-sociological analysis)”.
