Sociological investigations

The laboratory of Sociological investigations has been opened on the basis of the decree of №76 Ministries of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic (February 1989) and the decree №1/64 BSU (6 March 1989). The Supervisor of studies of laboratory doctor of philosophical sciences, professor H.R.Imanov.
Laboratory main objective is research of social problems of process of training in higher educational institutions, revealing social problems of education with carrying out of interrogations among students and working out of effective practical recommendations about their decision the Problem of research of Laboratory of Social Researches: “Research of social problems of formation”, a theme of scientific research: “the Analysis of problem situations in the environment of student's youth”.
The laboratory structure includes 9 persons:
The chief of laboratory is doctor of philosophical sciences, professor H.R.Imanov. Among employees of laboratory of 2 doctors of sciences, 5 candidates of sciences.
From the date of the formation the laboratory is engaged in research of actual social problems of high schools. Here researches on enumerated below to themes are carried out:
Social portrait of the young expert and efficiency of its work; Social intensity in the youth environment; Existing position and forecasts for the future; social orientation of student's youth, mood and expectation; the Analysis of problem situations in the youth environment. From employees of laboratory S.K.Mammadov (on a theme “Social intensity as object of social knowledge”, in 1996) and S.A.Alieva (on a theme “vitala way of the young expert as object of socially-philosophical knowledge”, in 2002) having protected master's theses and have received scientific degree of the candidate of philosophical sciences. In Helsinki at conference of the European organisation investigating changes of youth has acted R.M.Sattarov with the report on a theme: “Change of socially - economic system of Azerbaijan and the introduction of youth into labour activity” in 1999.
Prof. H.R.Imanov, R.M.Sattarov and S.K.Mamedov have published the brochure under the name “Moods and youth expectations”, reflecting results of the spent researches in 1994. Till now the laboratory of Social Researches worked over 4 research themes, three from them was finished and last is proceeded.
Every year students of faculty Social sciences and the Psychology, trained on a speciality Sociology pass here an industrial practice. Results of research works of laboratory help the rational organisation in a modern society of activity of such difficult social institute as formation.
Here practical recommendations about social orientation of student's youth, formation of moods and expectations, and also recommendations about timely detection and elimination of problem situations in the environment of student's youth are developed. The laboratory has defined the plan of research works on 2005-2009 in 2005. The purpose of scientific research on a theme “Philosophy of modern higher education”: research on the basis of concrete materials of philosophical-social style of higher education in the conditions of national independence, working out of practically significant recommendations about its formation.
